Connecticut Fly Fisherman's Monthly Meeting

The Connecticut Fly Fisherman’s Association will present a fly fishing program on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at the Veteran’s Memorial Clubhouse, 100 Sunset Ridge, East Hartford, CT., at 7:00 pm. Ed Mitchell is one of the most well know saltwater fly rodders. He has three books: Fly Rodding the Coast, Fly Fishing the Saltwater Shoreline, and Fly Rodding Estuaries. Ed has written for all the major angling magazines and he is a contributing editor to Fly Fishing in Salt Waters. Ed Mitchell will do a presentation on “Fly fishing for Atlantic bonito and little tunny (aka the false albacore)”. The lecture includes information on the necessary tackle and flies for these high power speedsters. Ed will also discuss time-tested strategies for boat and shore based anglers, as well as proper presentation, retrieve speeds, and how to best fight and land these lightning fast fish. Admission to the CFFA monthly meetings is always free. Meetings are on the second Wednesday of each month and you don’t have to be a member to attend. Prior to the meeting some of the CFFA’s best fly tiers will be tying some of their favorite patterns. For more information and directions to the meeting call 860-747-3324 or visit the CFFA website at www.ctflyfish.org
